The challenge
What needed to change.
Business owners run their own inbox and calendar, and most AI assistants are one more app to learn. They need help where they already are, with control over anything sent or booked in their name.
One more app
Most assistants live in their own app, which becomes one more thing to check.
Busywork all day
Email, scheduling and follow-ups take hours that should go to the business.
Trust
Handing over an inbox and calendar means trusting everything sent in your name.
The engineering decision
Trust before autonomy.
An assistant that acts for someone needs clear boundaries. Sylvie’s design separates drafting from sending, asks for confirmation around consequential actions, and gives users a way to review and correct memory. This adds a step to some requests, but makes the assistant’s proposed action visible before it is carried out.
